Violent Extremism became a great concern to peace and security in Bangladesh after the Holey Artisan attack in Dhaka in July 2016. Although local, regional and geopolitical drivers may have been active in Bangladesh from much earlier, the escalation of violent extremism was not felt until 2016. There is a severe lack of comprehensive data driven knowledge and analytics for unearthing patterns and trends about VE related incidents in the country.
